Rivermaya To Release New Single
Iconic and multi-platinum-selling band Rivermaya releases their much-awaited single Pilipinas, Kailan Ka Magigising? This single is the band’s first single in four years.
Pilipinas, Kailan Ka Magigising, penned by founding Rivermaya member Mark Escueta, is reminder to everyone to go against crab mentality, and selfishness, especially now that another elections is within the horizon once again.
When asked how the single was chosen among the tracks recorded for the forthcoming Panatang Makabanda album, drummer-turned-guitarist Mark quips, “In the early stages of recording, this song became the initial favorite of the group. It's also a fun song to play live. Maganda yung message ng kanta and very timely rin since election time nanaman tayo. “
The single will also have a music video, set to premiere soon, that highlights the fact that only a nation that thinks and acts as one can effectively employ change.
This release is also the band’s first project with their new label Universal Records, where they join the label’s elite roster of bands – Parokya Ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Sponge Cola, Calla Lily, among others.
“It's really a great honor for us, not only to become part of such a high-calibre roster, but to be given the chance to work with a company that has always championed the Filipino artist. It took a few weeks for it to really sink in. Di kami makapaniwala,” says Mark. “Finally, we're ‘home.’"

(Universal Music Philippines) is proud to announce that an expanded, two-disc deluxe edition of
the soundtrack to the film version of Les Miserables will be released next
month. The complete Motion Picture Soundtrack will have 22 more tracks than the
Highlights edition currently available.
Available in both physical and digital formats, the full
soundtrack is expected to be in stores by March 18. The Highlights edition,
which has 20 tracks in all, currently tops the UK album chart and is the
fastest-selling album in the UK this year.
"Post-production
on the Les Miserables film was extremely tight, with recording of the
orchestra, final edit and sound mix having to be completed in only a few
weeks," said producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh. "There was only enough time to remix a limited number of tracks so
that at least a highlights album could be released for the fans before
Christmas. We are delighted with the success of that album and very pleased
that we can now add 22 more tracks.” The new record's release, he
continued, meant "that audiences can
now enjoy at home a full representation of the film's powerful and emotional
version of this great score".
The new CD packaging will feature previously unseen photos from
the film set as well as additional explanatory notes.
Directed by Tom Hooper, the film version of the long-running stage
success stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne,
Samantha Barks and Amanda Seyfried.
The box-office hit was honored with four BAFTA film awards and
will be up for eight Oscars at the Academy Awards on 24 February.

Multi-platinum Grammy-nominated Island Records group Fall Out Boy has
ended their hiatus with force. With the global launch on February 4th
of their new single, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em
Up)," the track hit #1 on the iTunes (http://smarturl.it/MSKWYDITD)
Singles Chart in the U.S. and #1 in multiple countries around the globe. The
single sold over 161,000 units in the first week in the U.S. alone. Radio has
also showed strong support, as the song was #1 Most Added at Modern Rock in its
first official add week, and was also added at pop radio with top stations
including Z100 (NY), KISS (Los Angeles), SIRIUS Hits 1 coming on board in the
U.S. and Radio 1 in the UK among others around the globe. The “My Songs” video
featuring 2 Chainz has been played over 5 million times since Feb 4 as well.
The launch took place at the original Comiskey Park, the location of Disco
Demolition Night in 1979.
With
the incredible excitement around Fall Out Boy’s return and “My Songs Know
What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up),” the band moved the release date of
their album SAVE ROCK AND ROLL to April 16 (from May 7).
Pete Wentz said: “ So when we got this all rolling we didn't expect it to be so

The
band announced six small shows during the Feb 4 launch, and each one in NYC,
Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Berlin and Paris sold out in seconds. Days later,
the band’s first tour since 2009 went on sale and tickets sold out in record
time. The Rave in Milwaukee broke a 20 year venue record for fastest sell
out. In addition, Fall Out Boy is headlining the annual Skate and Surf
Festival in Freehold, NJ on May 18, playing at the Summer Sonic Festival in
Japan on August 10 and 11, and performing at the prestigious Reading and Leeds
Festivals in the UK in August.
The
band debuted their hit single on national television on Jimmy Kimmel Live last
night. Fall Out Boy now heads to Houston on February 16 for the NBA All Star
Weekend (airs 7:00pm on TNT).
SAVE
ROCK AND ROLL
is Fall Out Boy’s fifth studio album, and is their first new studio
album since Folie Á Deux in December 2008.
